Not done an outfit grid for a while, so with the rails full of AW17 let's crack on...
Up top I'm going with the Vulpine X Private White V.C. Ventile Mac. Quite a mouthful that and quite a jacket! Vulpine ran into some issues towards the end of SS17, so it was really good to see them rescued by Mango Bikes and carrying on. I think this jacket style might have been planned for the tail end of SS17, but it's made it into the AW17 range.
Made from the excellent Ventile fabric that we all know and love, cut in a classic style for that heritage look, it's a proper dapper affair.
Not cheap at £450, but a similar style direct from Private White V.C. will drop £650 out of your wallet, so not too bad. Ventile Mac's are an investment piece, so it's not a style you'll be dropping out again for the foreseeable. And 2 great brands joining forces, it's worth consideration.
Available in classic black or a vibrant orange. For me it would have to be the orange (tangerine) version. Grab it here
Winter's coming, so you'll need a scarf. Fred Perry have you covered for some new warm neckwear on the colder days. Very much a collegiate look to this one, the classic woollen scarf has been given a true Fred Perry look with the addition of twin-tipped rails on the single colour.
Cool if your local team is black and white, and cool as a heritage look all on its own.
With a length of 180cm this should give plenty fabric for a good knot up close to the neck.
Fancy one, snatch it here
Gonna look a bit strange walking about with just a scarf and jacket on, so let's crack in some proper weekend smarts with a cracking new shirt Pretty Green's Black Label range. The Polka Dot is a man's wardrobe staple and we should all own at least one shirt sporting the print.
The dot has become something a feature in all PGs ranges over the years, and is back again for AW17.
Black Label is the king of PG's playground, their coolest styles reserved for that little black tag. They've taken the standard Polka Dot and sized it down on this one to give a little twist to the look. And with a lack of branding, other than a small hem pinch-tab, they've nailed it here for a smart look. Get it on by grabbing one here
Dressing downstairs, keeping it informal for the weekend with some denim, and if it's denim then it has to be Selvedge.
The new Frexio from Oliver Sweeney are quite the pair with some nice new touches. Unlike most Selvedge you'll pick up these have been given a wash to soften them from that first wear. Now the denim heads among you are likely opened mouth in horror at the thought, but for us chaps just looking for smarts and comfort, that fits the bill perfectly.
They've added another nice little touch which I think other brands should be considering, the small coin pocket (okay, we know it's for a little latex friend and not coins) has been reshaped to holster a smartphone. Simple but very clever.
Kitted out in Italian denim from the Candiani mill, these are going to be as good as you'll find.
Sort your legs out here
Finally, the wheels are going to need something substantial for the damp winter days. A number of us are rather partial to some suede across our toes, sadly in the UK this isn't generally the best plan as Winter comes calling. So I've gone for something a little different to the norm, and opted for a sportswear brand.
Brand spanking new from Cruyff is their take on the Chelsea boot, the Jon Chelsea. The finish on the cow leather gives a semi-used appearance, so should avoid those tears as you spill your IPA on your new footwear.
An original look given some modern nods with the extended elastic going round the back of the leg and a very decent looking sole unit. Pull-on tabs front and back have these slipped on no bother.
