I'm Coming Up

Interview with LG in this weeks NME, image and text are a straight lift from there:

'Getting back to what I do best!' Liam Gallagher says he's ready to move on from his divorce and 'the last four years of f**king private-life bulls**t' as he returns to making music

He divorced All Saints singer Nicole Appleton in 2015.

And Liam Gallagher has revealed that he's very much ready to move on from that chapter of his life, in a new interview with NME.

'It doesn’t mean anything, but it does,' he said, referring to the leading track from his new album, As You Were. 'It means back in business. Forget about the last four years of nothing and personal b*****ks and get back to what I do best, which is singing rock ’n’ roll music.'

The rocker, 44, went onto explain that the vibe of his new album channels Oasis, with a bit of Beady Eye thrown in for good measure.

But it's very much a solo outing, having put bands to one side for now.

Other than repeatedly reference his trips to the pub, Liam talked about the music industry in its current state, and the promotional tactics used by his peers.

'Everyone’s just all cloak and dagger these days, like, "I’ve got a new song and you can’t hear it until it’s out",' he said. 'F**k it, it’s a f**king song, ya know what I mean?'

The singer/songwriter explained that he's 'not a***d' how successful his new album is.

'I just f**king wanna get back doing what I do, less of the f**king drama,' he said. 'I’ve had four years of f**king private-life bulls**t, which is all my doing, and I want to get back to doing my job, playing rock ’n’ roll to the people who like it.

'I love it and people can see that. You can tell by that big vein down the side of my neck!'

Liam's brother Noel left Oasis in 2009 and formed Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, while Liam continued with the former members of Oasis under the Beady Eye name until they disbanded.

The year before this, in the summer of 2013, Liam and Nicole announced their pending divorce, after five years of marriage.

The drama that circulated around the divorce seemed to allude to the fact that Liam had a daughter with an American journalist in New York.

The alleged affair resulted in an unexpected pregnancy, and a $3 million child support settlement.

He has also had a tumultuous relationship with former bandmate and brother Noel.

In 2009, prior to the group's break up, Noel branded Liam as 'rude, arrogant, intimidating and lazy'.

A tiff in Paris, which ended with a smashed up guitar belonging to Noel, led to the eventual end of Oasis, with Noel leaving the group.

They are thought to still not speak to one another.

NME, out this Friday, is an exclusive interview with Liam Gallagher, whose debut solo album As You Were is out this October.
