Strawberry In The Sky

As soon as we got whiff of the Pretty Green's upcoming collaboration with The Beatles of course I stuck in a request for some more info, sadly that didn't return anything.

However today the Live4Ever forum was the first (I've seen) to break news and our first look at a piece from the range.

I haven't seen anything else so far, so this is all we have to go on for now.

The text is straight from Live4Ever

'A limited, 28-piece Pretty Green collection has been launched to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Beatles‘ all-time classic album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Among the items available are 50 Lonely Hearts Club Parkas, the Strawberry Fields Coat and the Pepper Jacket.

Pretty Green founder Liam Gallagher says: “It’s been an absolute joy to do a collection in honour of the 50th anniversary of The Beatles Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band for Pretty Green as The Beatles have been a massive inspiration to me, both for music and fashion."

As a company of Beatles fans (well, not all at PG are Beatles fans really...), it’s been a real privilege for everyone at Pretty Green to work on this project with The Beatles & Apple Corps, Richard Ralph, CEO at Pretty Green, adds. Given the previous collaborations we’ve done, as soon as the opportunity arose it immediately felt right for us.

Using such a celebrated album as inspiration has allowed us some real creativity and we’re really pleased with the final collection which will hopefully bring a bit of swinging 60’s psychedelia to life.'

Gonna say, the influence and plan sounds good to me, and now we know it's a range based on Sgt Pepper, in time to celebrate the albums 50th anniversary.

It's going to be intriguing to see how Pepper is interpreted into clothing. It's fair to say the outfits worn by the Fab Four on the album sleeve aren't exactly your standard Saturday night attire. I doubt we'll see lurid stain Military tunics, as mad as PG are they ain't that bonkers.

Still plenty influence to be picked over though, the album was well documented and the sleeve is full of points to be dragged out for influence.

One piece has been outed so far, the very Harrison styled denim jacket with some Beatles Pepper logo-ing. Not an awful lot to go on, but it's a start.

What else is coming, well...

The range will also contain a variety of other garments from Kaftans and Grandad shirts to vintage style T-shirts, with prices ranging from £45 to £450. The collection is scheduled to launch in August 2017 online and across all Pretty Green stores in the UK and Japan as well as a wide number of independent retailers.

Rounding up the facts then...

There are 28 pieces in the range (not sure if that means 28 designs, or pieces though, hopefully a t-shirt in various colours is one piece)

We know now it is based on Sgt Pepper

There is a Parka, Jacket and a Coat

PG are hoping to bring 60's psychedelia to life

The article says the range is launched, but it's not available as yet, but hopefully this means it isn't too far away.

The article shared a view of one piece from the range, a new denim jacket style

Well done to Live4Ever for getting the scoop..!
