Saturday's Kids

Open the curtains, flick the kettle on, retrieve the milk from the fridge and drop the teabag in the mug....hands on the stereo remote and load up some classics...how about The Jam..?

The weekend's are short, make the most of them...and use the chance to drop the polyester work garb and pull on your finest peacock suit.

Covering it up with a real classic style from Pretty Green's new SS16 Pre-Collection, the Ventura jacket. Yeah, okay, not exactly your standard December wear, but if you're hopping in a taxi to the boozer you don't need more than this up top! A straight up proper cool short option to stand out among the sea of Harrington's. And we'll not mention the similarity to the style so favoured by one of the Gallagher siblings. PG's new collection is looking damn fine, but it's a classic piece like this that has caught my eye.

You'll need a little pop of colour when the Jacket is zipped up, so nothing better than one of Fred Perry's famous tartan scarves. The Lamont comes in a cotton weave and is wider than Fred's traditional tartan scarf size. The perfect layering option that retains some cool over a thick knitted option. The navy/green option ties the jacket and top colours together perfectly.

Now then, you'll need a proper smart top and they don't come much smarter than Real Stars Are Rare's Henley's. Let's be honest, if they're good enough for John William Weller Jr then we're well up for them. The new version comes in a sublime green colour and a new slightly heavier weight material. Subtle branding keep this one impeccable, but watch out for those nods from the fellow style kings who are in the know. If you don't own one of these then now is the time to take a look.

And for the legwear, it's time to arm up and fight the war to win back Chino's from the hipster crowd. Chino's were of course very popular with the Mod crowd with the juxtaposition of the preppy image into the UK fashion scene in the 60's. Pretty Green are bringing them back for SS16 and it's time to get behind it! They've suffered from the over-use by the hipsters, but they really are a great option to have tucked away in the armoury. Like denim they are perfect for teaming up with tees and polos, or even a nice piece of merino wool for a sharper edge. Cool enough to dress down with trainers or smarten up dessies or loafers.

Dropping down on to the wheels, and nothing better than some 3 stripe goodness for a Saturday afternoon spent supping on some Peroni with your family and friends. And why not light it up with some colour on an adidas originals option. The re-launched Jeans coming in a decent dirty red, and the reason the dirty red is good is it should cover up the odd european beer spillage without looking too scruffy. Nothing worse than wrecked suede on your feet.

Have a great weekend troops

Peace&Love, theSub
