Leaf

It's November, what better time to start thinking about SS16! With the weather starting to turn grim there is no better time to start thinking and planning your Spring/Summer attire is there, got to have something to do while the wind and rain slashes down on the window.

This is the earliest I can recall new season Pretty Green appearing, I think last year we saw some new pieces landing towards the end of December but I don't think we've seen new stuff in November. I also can't recall many times when a new collection has appeared at retailers before PG, bit of a strange one. However fear not, pretty sure PG will have the full range available for us to buy direct very soon.

Not got much to go on so far, but we'll take a little walk through what we've seen so far.

Up front, we can't ignore it, the all over Leaf print that's coming, it's full on isn't it. Hats off to PG, they are never afraid to be brave are they. All over prints will always be Marmite for folks, that's just how it is. Last year is was all about the Camo Skin, which was as popular as it was divisive. The new Leaf style will likely be the same. For me I prefer it over the Camo Skin, sorry PG..... I've never been a huge animal print fan, so that's nothing personal PG, I am however a big fan of floral style prints so this Leaf is landing right for me.

Okay, we saw a lot previewed at LC:M but we'll stick to what's actually been released because as we know not all preview pieces get released.

The Leaf print is key, being heavily used across a number of styles. We have it splashed across a new Parka style, we have it splashed across a new Short Hooded jacket style, the Wren, and we have it used to logo out the standard tee.

Speaking of the Wren jacket, this is also coming in a plain navy option with a PU or Wax (or something else) coating to the fabric.

Now then, the first stand out piece from the range, the Stamford Shirt. Keep it simple, classic and it just works. This style has a bit of the Shackets to it, but it is described as a shirt. It's out early and it is grabbing a lot of admiring glances. In fact since we posted it most sizes have sold out on Mainline. Tells you everything you need to know about how cool this is.

And the name, Stamford, someone at PG a Sherlock fan.....

The Jackson Zip Shirts looks like the perfect layering piece, and if you're thinking of Spring/Summer pieces then this could be pretty ideal for days when you need something but don't want a full weight jacket on.

Geometric patterns are still in, used on shirts and polo shirts.

Some new-ish tee designs. The PG logo tee has been in-filled with the Leaf print for those who fancy a piece of the new action but don't want to go full out with the print. There's also a new hand-drawn style of someone playing a guitar, I do wonder if the protruding middle finger is a little nod to the rock n roll sensibilities of the man who sits at the top of Pretty Green.

The main thing that's standing out for me, so far, is that we're seeing new designs. Previous ranges have tended to use new colours of continuation quite a bit, this range is looking good with completely new pieces. Okay, Pretty Green have always done a Parka, but this is a new design of Parka as PG attempt to offer us something a little different. So I'm hoping for yet more brand new designs in the range.

Peace&Love, theSub
