CHPT3 x Brompton 2019
UPDATE: before you read on and get all excited, bad news, it's a sell out I'm afraid, all the lovely new shiny bike shaped objects is gone!
Pre-Order is now open on the 2019 edition of the CHPT3 x Brompton so get yourself over to CHPT3 to smash your cash down on the limited edition object of lust.
CHPT3's Devesa does indeed make an appearance on the Fabric saddle, yep....a Fabric saddle! There are also some other minor tweaks to distinguish the 2017 and 2019 editions.
Again these are only available for collection from Brompton in London, which is a bit of a shame if you can't make the trek there. I don't have the dirty cash myself so I don't need to worry, so I'll just sit and wonder at the goodness online! Again, it's a real beauty ins't it.
The Brompton is a love/hate item, but there can be no mistaking the CHPT3 colouring just really works and elevates the bike.
The Brompton is an incredible piece of smart engineering, the entire scope being focussed on function over form. The fact that the form is also super-cool really is a happy by-product of the supremely clever design chaos.
Given so much of cycling is given over to the frame, stiffness, compliance, etc. it is one of the madder ideas to ask someone to come up with a way of folding the frame isn't it. But they did, and the Brompton is here. An idea born of true madness.
To watch someone unfold their Brompton is still something pretty special and still rather....WTF, how does that work.
