CHPT3 A New Chapter
David Millar's excellent CHPT3 label has decided not to conform, they've decided not to follow the standard imprint of clothing brands with season driven collection releases.
Like a small number of fashion labels I greatly admire, they've opted to release whenever they want. The don't don't see their items as going 'out' of fashion, aren't swayed the by tick of the clock deciding what should be available or deemed as good.
Fair play to them, I wish more brands would go on like this. Some brands offer it to a degree with a core range, but not as an overall strategy.
A few updates have dropped into the range in the last week, evolution as opposed to revolution. With all pieces released so far all elements from the overall design down to the components elements are very well considered with practicality and style behind every decision. Yep, style is important, don't tell me you don't like to look sharp on the bike.
The excellent Rocka has been given an uplift to the Mk2, and with it a long sleeved version introduced. Both look superb, after telling myself these would remain a pipe-dream to me I can see a little saving fund starting up for one of these, a lifetime investment.
The outstanding wool baselayer is given a short-sleeved little brother and a new technical base is introduced in the form of the Backyard designed for those longer days in the saddle. David has used the area of his new home within the print design, which has a very obvious lifeline to the modern cycling world.
And for the first time bib-tights come into the rage, with minus temperatures around at the moment there are a very welcome addition.
Currently available in the UK from Castelli Cafe, I'm sure we'll start to see them at CHPT3 shortly.
